BMW have released images of their latest concept roadster, and man is it a beautiful looking bike! This bike features the infamous boxer engine (2-cylinder), a single-sided swing arm, as well as a light and tubular space frame. Designers were quite particular in the design: ‘Split colouring makes for a visual separation of the dark engine area below and the light seating area above with the fuel tank and rear section. The dark bottom section moves the BMW Concept Roadster visually closer to the road surface, thereby emphasising a road-oriented riding experience. Meanwhile the lighter coloured upper section conveys lightness and a low visual centre of gravity.’
Designers and engineers have modernised the look with an extensive addition of LED technology. The headlamp is a marvelous representation of the classic circular headlamp, however with a twist. The bike is also nestled with glossy aluminum parts to give the bike a modern look, as well as visible milling marks to construct an essence of an industrial look. ‘Form and function’ are the concept behind the engine spoiler. The spoiler is added to increase the aerodynamics of the vehicle, but also incorporates the entire front silencer.
All in all, a great bike, with a heavy emphasis on design, and future thinking. Find out more from their website.
