When traveling people tend to go with affordable accommodation with the thought that all hotels are the same, simply a place to sleep in-between heading out and hitting the town or site seeing.
I can confidently say that South Place Hotel is definitely not just another “hotel”.
After spending just the first night out of my two night stay I have to say I was absolutely blown away! Everything from the friendly and professional staff that all have unique and genuine personalities that stand out, to the fantastic amenities they have to offer which include bars, restaurants, steam room, gym and games room.
The hotel is located in the Heart Of London, very close Shoreditched which in recent times has become very well developed with pop-up stores, restaurants and cafes. The area has loads to offer with a very hipster feel, with graffiti art adorning some street walls in the heart of the business district. A few great shops like A.P.C, The Mens Shop & Murdock London if you are wanting a clean shave. The hotel is also located very close to both Mooregate and Liverpool Station for easy access to the cities tube.
Food & Drink
There are some truly amazing places to eat and drink within the Hotel, and once again the service is absolutely impeccable. No matter what mood you’re in I can guarantee something will tickle your fancy. With the choice of three different menus there is something for everyone. We ate at the bistro on the ground floor, I felt like having something basic, so I went with the chicken pie and even that blew me away.
The Secret Garden located on level 1 which offers a quiet and tranquil place to have a drink and a cigar is fantastic for that afternoon relaxation. There is also a Roof Terrace located on level 7 which boasts an outdoor area providing both drinks and tasty food.
The Angler Restaurant is also located within the hotel, receiving the Michelin-star after just being opened one year. If you enjoy seafood then this restaurant is a must try for you.
For those of you who are wanting to grab a late night meal after heading out the restaurant Duck & Waffle is located close to the hotels vicinity and is only closed for 2 hours per day.
Attention to detail is not spared throughout the hotel, from your room to the public areas everything is immaculately presented. South Place Hotel have not saved on any of the hotels finishes, high end fixtures and relaxing lighting present itself throughout the property. The rooms all feature Bang & Olufsen sound systems and wall mounted TV’s, and you will find some nice beverages to choose from including Jonny Walker Blue Label.
All in all an absolutely fantastic experience being able to spend two nights in this wonderful hotel, I will definitely be back there in the future.
